Junction began with an ad ran in a local newspaper by current owner Shannan Fales looking for other creative people who wanted to collectively open a shop. After working for years at an unfulfilling 9 to 5 job, Shannan decided to put her passion for fashion and all things vintage to use in a new career as a boutique owner.
In September of 2003, Junction opened its doors in a small store space on the historical U Street in what was then considered a “new and up-and-coming” neighborhood in North West Washington DC.
After three of the original owners left, Shannan became the sole owner in 2005. And in January of 2007, she was able to expand the store, doubling its size. In the summer of 2008, Megan Gay was hired as a Sales Associate and has since become Store Manager and the go-to-person for all things Junction.
Today, Shannan continues to maintain the original elements in which Junction was founded on…uniqueness, affordability, style and quality.
Junction is a proud member of the MidCity Business Association.
